Established in 2019 by Dr. Daniel Abram, BiaGuard swiftly emerged as a prominent center for head protection innovation in Canada. Within a short span of time, BiaGuard garnered recognition as a leading hub in the field. In 2021, BiaGuard achieved a significant milestone when its pioneering head protection technology was acquired by MIPS AB, the largest technology licensor specializing in head protection, based in Sweden. This acquisition further solidified BiaGuard’s impact and contribution to the industry.

Daniel Abram
PhD, President
Daniel is an expert in the field of impact mechanics, focusing on helmet design, testing, and optimization. He is an award-winning researcher with over 15 patents in the field of safety and more than 30 publications, including book chapters, journal articles, and conference papers. His research has been published in prestigious journals and featured on BBC, CBC, Global News, CTV, the Vancouver Sun, and other media outlets. Daniel received his PhD in mechanical design and optimization from the University of New Brunswick in 2008. From 2009 to 2020, he held postdoctoral fellow and adjunct professor positions at Simon Fraser University.
Mah Soleimani
MSC, ISA BUSINESS ADVISOR
Mah has years of experience acting as a business advisor helping several startup companies in performing risk analysis to mitigate and manage business risks. She has assisted the companies to identify opportunities for future business development by improving business, branding, and marketing strategies. Mah is also an Enterprise Architect helping the municipal government in their strategic IT planning and road map. Mah holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of New Brunswick.
